Gdynia Winter Swimming Cup is an international winter swimming event organized since 2020 by Piotr Biankowski, Aleksandra Kabelis and the GWSC Team. Within just a few years, a local event has grown into a competition of international stature. For three consecutive years, GWSC has been part of the IWSA World Cup, attracting winter swimmers from around the world to Gdynia. In 2027, Gdynia will make winter swimming history as the host of the first-ever IWSA European Championships. This is a competition where there is no room for chance. Swimmers face the icy waters of the Baltic Sea, with the water temperature reaching a record –0.35°C during the 2026 GWSC. Salt water, wind, waves and winter conditions make every race a true test of determination, preparation and resilience.
GWSC IS NOT JUST ABOUT SPORT GWSC supports the Ronald McDonald Foundation and its mission “Keeping families together.” Aleksandra Kabelis and Piotr Biankowski are Foundation Ambassadors in Poland. At GWSC, we come together to support families of children staying in hospital. We swim. We help.
